The 2022 Commonwealth Games were held in Birmingham, England. In the netball competition, 12 teams took part, they were divided into two groups for the pool stages.

The England Roses were the Commonwealth netball champions. They won the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in a thrilling final against Australia where Helen Housby scored a last-second goal to take the gold medal.

The England netball team for the Commonwealth Games 2022 included 12 players and four reserves. Six of the squad play down under in the Suncorp Super Netball League.

Elite Netball Academy Ambassador Natalie Metcalf was named as captain replacing Serena Guthrie who retired from the sport in March. Nat said of her appointment, “growing up I always wanted to play for England and being asked to captain the team is more than I ever could have imagined!”

Australia won gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games beating Jamaica in the final. New Zealand were dominant over the England Roses to secure third place in the bronze medal match.
