Meet the Elite Netball Academy Head Coaches

Elite Netball Academy players are lucky to have the opportunity to work with a coaching team who have been involved in various playing and coaching roles, in franchise pathways and high-level clubs.

Our head coaches will ensure that delivery at all of our regional academies is high quality and performance-focused. All of our academies will follow the guidance and framework created by founder and former Superleague coach Anna Carter.

The Elite Head Coaches

Alice Rawsthorne

Yorkshire U13 & U15 HPC Head Coach

Alice has played netball at a high-level representing Yorkshire Jets at NSL. She continues to play netball in the Premier League for her local club.

Currently, Alice is Head Coach for Leeds Rhinos U15’s Competition Squad and Head of Netball at Bradford Grammar School. When work allows, Alice is a training partner with her local NSL club and has worked with nationally recognised coaches.

RacHel Henry

Lancashire U12, U13, U15 & U18 Head Coach

Rachel had a fantastic career playing in the NSL. An experienced coach, Rachel has learnt from some of the best coaches in the country. Rachel has spent a number of years coaching across a range of age groups and has taken teams to national competitions. Rachel has a passion for physical athlete development and is also a successful football player. This allows Rachel to keep her coaching fresh and versatile.

Nat Panagarry

Yorkshire U18 & Manchester U13 & U15 Head Coach

Nat needs little introduction. A two-time NSL-winning captain and former international netballer. Nat was part of the bronze medal team at the NWC in 2019.

Nat is an excellent role model to all the young people she engages with and we’re delighted to have her working with us.

Ciara Duffin

Yorkshire U12 Junior Academy Head Coach

Ciara started playing competitive netball at 14, making it to county level. Unfortunately, a serious injury took her away from the court and Ciara looked for different ways to keep fit and stay involved in the sport. Her coaching journey started in 2017 and since then Ciara has been involved in the WY County programme coaching various age groups.

Erin Hodgkiss

Yorkshire U13 & U15 HPC Head Coach

Erin has played pathway netball in all age groups at franchise level. Erin made a move into NSL training partner status smoothly but unfortunately sustained an ACL injury before a potential NSL debut. Known as a tough character Erin, is now back on the court and working hard to pick up where she left off.

Erin coaches the PDP groups at her local NSL club and has really made an impact.

Rachel Towell

Manchester U13 & U15 HPC

Rachel is Head of Netball at Stockport Grammer School. At her previous school, she coached them to reach the Regional Nationals.

Rachel is a player/coach at Blackpool Netball Club, they have recently been promoted to the Premier League. Rachel plays for Leeds Athletic Netball Club and is a regular training partner at a North West-based NSL franchise. As an age group player, Rachel played for a franchise team winning the U21’s closing NPL tournament.

Kiana Stagg

Sussex Head Coach

Kiana has an impressive netball coaching CV. From setting up her own club in 2018 to coaching regional and Superleague pathway programmes since 2021. Kiana is excited to help us launch an Elite Academy in Sussex and support southern athletes with our proven training programme

Hayley Mackellar

(South) Bucks U13 & U15 HPC Head Coach

Hayley is a NSL assistant coach and Scotland U21 Head Coach. Following a successful playing career in the defensive circle, Hayley’s energy for netball is infectious. Hayley has previously been Director of Netball at Samuel Whitbread College and will launch our first academy in the south.

Driving standards in netball, Elite Netball Academy offers a progressive pathway for netball players of all ages. We support athletes at the beginning of their netball journey to athletes with big aspirations.

Under founder, former Superleague coach and international pathway selector Anna Carter, Elite want to create unique opportunities and progressive experiences through the sport that last and transcend every aspect of an athlete’s life, on and off the court.

Anna and the coaching team at Elite Netball bring passion, experience and knowledge of the game at the highest level to help athletes progress and gain school, club and pathway selection. They have a strong reputation for helping several athletes make franchise and pathway programmes for Superleague netball clubs in the UK.
