Grace’s Netball Journey
From Mini Netball to our High-Performance Academy classes and a franchise pathway, Grace has been training with Elite for a long time and believes Mini Netball classes sparked her passion for the sport.
Recently, we asked her to reminisce on her netball journey with Elite.
What age did you start mini netball?
I started Mini Netball at age seven, and thanks to the positive environment at Mini Netball I’m still playing netball today. I enjoyed the Mini Netball sessions and I learnt how to shoot properly and many of the basic techniques of passing. Starting sports from a young age has helped my fitness and endurance in the sport now.
Did you find the mini netball classes inclusive?
I definitely found the Mini Netball classes inclusive! There were lots of different abilities in the sessions and everyone enjoyed the classes and found them fun. It was in the Mini Netball classes that I was first exposed to netball. Anna and the team’s passion for the sport encouraged me to keep playing.
What other sports did you do alongside mini netball?
When I was younger I did gymnastics, swimming, running and hockey. I really enjoyed trying all these sports.
Where are you now on your netball journey?
I play for Leeds Athletic Netball Club (LANC) and have been selected for the Manchester Thunder Pathway. I also still train with Elite once a week.
Would you recommend mini netball to other young netballers?
Yes definitely! The Mini Netball sessions with Elite taught me the basic rules and techniques for playing netball. It was in these sessions that I developed my love for sport and the game of netball. I love being part of a netball club now, I’ve made so many friends and it’s great to keep developing my skills at Elite. I can then try out these skills at lub and pathway training.

Mini Netball classes for kids are a fun and educational way to introduce your child to netball. Our young netballers enjoy learning new skills, taking part in mini-games, and having fun forming new friendships.
Our netball coaches have a wealth of experience and a shared passion for the sport ensuring your child is supported in a positive and enthusiastic environment. Mini netball classes aim to get primary school children active by developing a netball provision and encouraging more netball to be played at club level, outside of school. At these mini netball classes in Yorkshire, our experienced netball coaches work together to ensure every child has a fun and educational introduction to netball.
Our Mini netball classes for kids are a step towards improving the basics and game understanding in a fun and supportive environment alongside or before club netball kicks in. The aim of every class is to make sure your child has learned something new, had fun and formed new friendships.
