Principles of footwork, passing, catching, basic understanding of attack & defending through different invasion games and basic shooting techniques.

Ideal for foundation coaches, L1 coaches or taking/recently passed Level 2.

Wednesday 3rd December – Through Court Attacking Principles with Anna Carter and Rachel Henry.

How players can look at building options onto the ball and complementary movement. Focus on attacking connections and building great decision makers. Turnover to goal principles to support your players in capitalising on every opportunity.

Wednesday 14th January – Through Court Defence Principles with Nat Panagarry and Rachel Henry.

A variety of ways to look at maximising pressure on the opposition, exploring concepts of high & wide, forcing into each other, V defence and the role of a stage 2 defender. Through court zone defence will also be included

Working through different defence set-ups to combat different attacking set-ups! Various triggers for players to recognise from zero phase onwards.

Wednesday 11th March – Centre Pass Attack with Anna Carter and Rachel Henry.

How to establish and build attacking set-ups from drills to on-court match play. How to build pressure for attackers to stay composed on CPA and go straight to goal. Also looking at how we keep variety and ensure all players are engaged on successful CPA

Wednesday 22nd April – Shooting Circle and attacking third principles with Anna Carter and Rachel Henry

Starting on the basics and building understanding of roles. How to teach holds, screens, sweeps and rotations, creating a balanced circle, including WA/C too.

Understanding how to present a playbook, what to include and how it can develop to represent the netball you want to play with support from players and fellow coaches.

Wednesday 17th June – Circle defence and end third principles with Maggie Birkinshaw and Rachel Henry

Building into various defensive styles in the end third looking at man-to-man, box defence and various defensive styles on the shot

About our coach education sessions:

Our education sessions are suitable for new and experienced netball coaches at all levels. Players will also benefit from attending these online sessions

Founded by former franchise coach Anna Carter, Elite Netball Academy recognises the need for coaches to access quality netball coaching advice to develop technical, tactical, physical and psychological competencies within the sport. These online coach education sessions will be hosted by former international and Superleague players as well as sports and fitness industry experts.

The sessions will take place on Zoom. There will be opportunities to ask questions throughout the sessions. A link will be sent to you ahead of the session via email.
