Lancaster University

Performance Partner 2023 – present

We are The University of Lancashire’s official Netball Performance Team and Scholarship recruitment partner. Netball is a focal sport at the university and for the last few years, Elite has jointly led player recruitment and driven weekly performance training sessions as well as coaching at games and tournaments throughout the year. Together we’re creating an environment that develops and enhances players and Lancashire’s position in BUCS sport. With our proven history in performance netball and expertise within the game, we want the University to become known as a strong and competitive team in the BUCS league

The University of Lancashire Chair and Scholar Cody Willis on how our partnership has benefited netball at the University:

“Choosing to come to Lancashire University and joining the netball team has been the best decision. I have made lifelong friends who share the same values as me – we’re competitive and have fun. The coaches from Elite are amazing – providing intense training sessions that prepare us for BUCS matches. The university’s partnership with Elite also means we have been trained by Superleague players who have provided valuable guidance and tips.”

We are delighted to announce our new partnership with Great Marlow School, where we will be delivering a dedicated netball coaching programme for students in Years 7–11.

As part of this collaboration, our coaches will lead extra-curricular netball sessions twice a week, providing players with high-quality training and performance development opportunities.

Our aim is to support and enhance the already successful netball programme at Great Marlow School, helping to develop athletes competing across the High Wycombe District League, Sisters in Sport competitions, and County School tournaments.
With many Great Marlow athletes already representing local performance clubs and taking part in our Bucks U13, U15, and U18 programmes, this partnership will help identify and nurture talented players — ensuring they receive the coaching, support, and pathway opportunities needed to reach their full potential.

“Great Marlow School has been delighted to form a partnership with Elite Netball during this academic year. This collaboration has brought a wealth of coaching expertise, enthusiasm, and support, all of which have significantly enhanced the school’s netball programme and overall sporting provision.

An experienced and knowledgeable Elite Netball coach has been working closely with students across all year groups, developing both the technical and tactical aspects of their game. Through a series of engaging, high-quality sessions, girls aged 11–16 have been challenged and inspired to refine their core skills, improve their decision-making, and deepen their understanding of netball.

The sessions have been dynamic, inclusive, and focused on helping every player reach her potential. As part of the programme, the coach has also embedded key attacking and defending principles, which have been shared and implemented with the 1st Team squad to create a consistent playing philosophy throughout the school. This alignment has strengthened team cohesion and ensured that players are developing within a clear and progressive framework.

In addition to student-focused coaching, Elite Netball has provided valuable support to the school’s staff providing CPD through the extra-curricular sessions. The elite team, have provided valuable innovative ideas for delivering netball content within PE lessons, as well as practical strategies to engage and challenge students of all abilities. Staff have welcomed the opportunity to expand their coaching knowledge and apply new approaches within the curriculum. The Elite Netball online resource portal has also proved to be an excellent tool for staff development, offering access to a wide range of videos, drills, and practice ideas. This platform enables teachers to plan engaging and progressive sessions for the girls.

The netball programme has continued to grow, both in participation and performance. The squads have shown notable improvements in league results, and the teams have achieved excellent progress in the Sisters in Sport Competition, demonstrating the tangible impact of the partnership. The players’ confidence, teamwork, and commitment have all flourished under the guidance of the Elite Netball coaching team.

Overall, this partnership has not only enhanced the standard of netball at Great Marlow School, but it has also strengthened staff confidence, increased student engagement, and fostered a lasting passion for the sport. Both Great Marlow School and Elite Netball look forward to continuing this successful collaboration in the future, building on the strong foundations already established.
