We’re on the hunt for future netball stars in our region’s state schools!
In a recent survey of netball players at a Yorkshire club, 92% came from Independent schools. This tells us there is a huge amount of talent waiting to be found in our state schools. The only thing missing for these young athletes is an opportunity to shine.
And that’s where Elite Netball Academy comes in.
Our plan is simple! Every Monday we want to head into state schools in our region and deliver free netball coaching to help future sporting stars learn the skills needed to go further in the sport. This will also help to increase girls’ participation in sport. Fear of judgement, lacking confidence, not having enough time or lack of opportunity are all cited as reasons why 39% of women aged 16 and over are not active enough to get the full health benefits of sport and physical activity.
So far, over 30 schools have already signed up and we have more raring to go, we just need a sponsor to make it happen and help us deliver the coaching sessions. It’s a great opportunity for a local business to make a difference in our community and help us find future England Netball players.
Any businesses keen to get involved in the netball coaching scheme can find out more by emailing us at email@example.com
