Where do you get your coaching inspiration from?

My coaching inspiration has always come from someone I like to call ‘the boss’ aka Mrs Anna Carter herself. Anna encouraged me to get into coaching when I was 17 (very inexperienced and unconfident might I add) and I grew to love seeing the kids progressing and having fun!

Why do you love netball?

Netball takes my mind off everything else that is going on in my life. For me it’s an escape, whether I’m coaching, playing or watching – whichever one I am doing I’m completely focused on and don’t think about other things and I just love that. I also love the people and friendship it has introduced me to (some I could not survive without now!). Finally, I live for the netball banter, sarcastic comments, winding each other up and just generally having a laugh with my best mates – you can’t beat it!

How are you involved in netball outside of Elite Netball Academy?

I play for Leeds Athletic Netball in the Premier League, I also coach the LANC U14s which has 2 competitive teams and a development squad. I have also played for and captained Yorkshire Netball U19s and Loughborough Lightning U21s (and won gold at the U21 NPL tournament).

What are your official coaching qualifications?

UKCC Level 1 and Level 2 plus I have an BSc Sport & Exercise Science degree and I am currently studying a MSc Paediatric Nursing degree
