Where do you get your coaching inspiration from?

Coaches who have and still do coach me! I also like to watch high level games to pick up specific movement patterns, partnerships and skills to then practice them in training drill. The internet is great for planting the seed for training inspiration and you can find a lot of training tips by looking at others sports such as basketball, American football and tennis (particularly for agility/reaction-based training)

Why do you love netball?

Netball has provided me with a purpose, a career and most importantly friends for life. Playing netball and playing to a decent level has shaped my mindset, work ethic and provided me with valuable skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline and tenacity. There is no feeling quite like being part of team. Win or lose, you’re all in it together and you all have a part to play.

How are you involved in netball outside of Elite Netball Academy?

I play for Leeds Athletic currently, they’re in the netball Premier League player. I’ve been in the Yorkshire Jets academy and captained the side, as well as being a Yorkshire Jets Super League training partner and when I was at university I a Leeds Beckett University first team player and captain.

Workwise I’m Head of Netball at Bradford Grammar School and Leeds Athletic U14 assistant coach.

What are your official coaching qualifications?

UKCC Level 2 netball coaching certificate. I also have a Sport and exercise Science degree plus a Level three Sports Massage diploma.
